It’s taken nearly two years to find the black box and data recorders of the Air France jet that crashed into the Atlantic from Rio to Paris, but today the victims’ families have some answers.
I’m not one who likes science but it has proved its worth in looking into what caused the disaster killing all 228 people on June 1st 2009.
The French authorities who are investigating the crash said that BEA safety officers have been able to download data from the black boxes, including the last 2hours of voices heard in the cockpit.
Officials say initial findings remain unconfirmed but so far they think the crash had something to do with the Airbus A330 jet's air speed probes known as "Pitots" which may of iced up.
The full findings won’t be released for some weeks.
