Police in Hampshire England have been on the lookout for an escaped tiger.
The tiger Hampshire Police thought was real
A large scale operation was launched around the famous Rose Bowl Cricket Ground last Saturday afternoon after reports a big cat was prowling the area.
A number of the public called into the 999 system reporting seeing a tiger type creature laying down in a field close by.
Armed teams of police on golf buggies, the forces helicopter and staff from Marwell Zoo with tranquilisers all sped to the location in a nearby field.
The police helicopter flew over the creature but could not pick up any heat source, so it reduced its height and found that it was a rather large stuffed toy.
So while it may look rather embarrassing for the police force in Hampshire, officers are seeing it as a superb training exercise instead.
