Reports from Russia suggest 44 people on board a RusAir Tupolev-134 aircraft have been killed when the plane they were in crashed in heavy fog bursting into flames on a highway.
The incident happened on Monday 20th June 2011 when the plane was on its final approach to an airport in the north western city of Petrozavodsk.
The aircraft was carrying 43 passengers and 9 crew; its understood 8-people survived the crash including a 10-year-old boy.
Investigations are underway, but at this early stage authorities are saying the weather may’ve played some part in the incident.
